Our international students

It has been a month since our new international students arrived in Katowice. We hope that this time has been an amazing experience for you and you are satisfied with integration activities organized for you. We trust that your study experience is successfully. Ambassador of Canada at our University

We are happy to have hosted Mr David Preston, Ambassador of Canada at our University. During his visit Mr Ambassador held a meeting with the University authorities as well as academic staff and graduates of the "Project Management" post-diploma studies, a course delivered at our University jointly with a network of state universities of the Province of Quebec. The conversation revolved around the academic issues as well as more general ones, like economic situation in Poland, Silesia applying to hold Euro 2012 Football Championship as well as future perspectives of cooperation between Canada and Poland.

The Youth Mobility Agreement Canada - Poland provides 500 young Poles and 500 young Canadians each year with the opportunity to acquire professional or hands-on experience, as well as to improve their knowledge of languages, culture and society of the other country, while holding a temporary work permit.

Christmas Party

We were happy to host our international students at the Christmas party. There was a chance to try some typical Polish Christmas dishes, exchange presents and take part in Christmas karaoke in few languages. Thank you for the great evening!

10th Anniversary of Erasmus Exchage Programme in Poland

From 26 to 28 of November 2008, Erasmus Student Network AE Katowice was celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Erasmus Exchage Programme in Poland by organizing a series of events such as: presentations, lectures, competitions etc. See the schedule.

University at the biggest educational fair in Europe

Representatives of InterRel and the Faculty of Finance and Insurance attended the international EAIE conference in Antwerp between 10 and 13 September 2008. The conference was accompanied by an educational fair, where our University was promoting our study offer in English at the "Higher Education in Poland" stand. We look forward to many new cooperation agreements arising thanks to the contacts with partners from all over the world established during the conference.

Pre-MBA studies in Polish or Czech

In October 2007 UEK introduced, as a part of study offer of the Continuing Education Center, new studies in the field of Management. After two semesters of studies, either in Katowice or in Brno, students can start MBA programme in English at Brno University of Technology. Recrutiment for 2008/2009 starts in May 2008. Ranking of Polish Higher Education Institutions

Newsweek magazine has published its Ranking of Polish Higher Education Institutions.
We are pleased to announce that Karol Adamiecki University of Economics was placed in the 3rd position of 120.
The ranking authors considered the graduates' career paths and the opporunities opened by graduating from each university.

Long May weekend in Katowice

If you are staying in Katowice for the long May weekend, we encourage you to take part in many exciting events organised in Silesia in those days. On 1st and 2nd May there is a "European Economic Picnic" and "VI Reggae Rap Festival" taking place in the WPKiW Park in Chorzów. And on 3rd of May over 1000 participants will take part in one of the biggest sport events of this year in the region: Silesia Marathon. We are proud to have some of our staff and students take part in this event. Good luck!!
